Lindsay Lohan's long-suffering publicist has quit

In a burst of near speechlessness, Lindsay Lohan's long-suffering publicist has quit.
“It was last night," ex-mouthpiece Steve Honig told the Daily News Thursday. "I really feel very firmly that it's private and I don't want to say anything."

Honig, who also reps Hole singer Courtney Love, has helped Lohan through a long list of personal and legal imbroglios since taking her on as a client in May 2011.

"Lohan's recent headaches include claims she struck a Manhattan cook with her car, tussle with a congressional staffer over cell phone photos and attempted intervention by dad

In addition to defending her through recent claims she struck a Manhattan cook with her car, tussled with a congressional staffer over cell phone photos and called her mom a cocaine-sniffing "devil" on tape, Honig also helped polish Lohan's image as she attempts a comeback with the Lifetime biopic "Liz & Dick," premiering next month.
He was the first official publicist to work with the scandal-plagued actress after she parted ways with former flack Leslie Sloane in 2010.
